tammy's blog about
AI alignment,
utopia,
anthropics,
and more;
a known problem with the CC0 license is its infamous patent clause, which says:
No trademark or patent rights held by Affirmer are waived, abandoned, surrendered, licensed or otherwise affected by this document.
and other big public-domain-equivalent licenses only apply to software, not to any work in general.
as a result, i propose the use of the CC_ -1, which is a full copy of CC0's legal text except for the following changes:
as required by CC, the names "Creative Commons" and "Creative Common Corporation", referring to the corporation, have been replaced with "carado" (which is me)
the name "Creative Commons" at the top, referring to the license, has been replaced with "Carado Commons"
"CC", which is trademarked by Creative Commons, has been replaced with "CC_" (as per the common programming convention of adding an underscore to an already used name)
"0" in the name of the license has been changed to "-1", to suggest that this license grants even more freedom than CC0
the patent and trademark clause has been changed from
No trademark or patent rights held by Affirmer are waived, abandoned, surrendered, licensed or otherwise affected by this document.
to
All trademark and patent rights held by Affirmer are waived, abandoned, and surrendered.
you can find the full text here.
here is also a suggested logo, using as a background the free speech flag, and the name "CC_-1" rendered in the public domain font unscii, at various scales:
unless otherwise specified on individual pages, all posts on this website are licensed under the CC_-1 license.
unless explicitely mentioned, all content on this site was created by me; not by others nor AI.
