the systematic absence of libertarian thought

to me, libertarianism aims to give people freedom, to give them self-determination over their life.

it is interesting how that type of thought is not just, in politics, overwhelmingly absent outside of america, and even not that common in america; but how people don't even consider it.

when talking to most people, they seem to easily generate opinions on what people should and shouldn't do, and often think it common-sense to impose those using the force of the state. it doesn't cross their mind to give individuals autonomy over their decisions and refrain from imposing on them.
